Auqib Nabi’s Fiery Spell Leads J&K to Historic Innings Victory

In a sensational display of cricketing skill, Jammu and Kashmir’s cricket team clinched a historic innings victory over Rajasthan by an innings and a massive margin in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group-A match at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium today. The standout performer was Auqib Nabi, whose fiery bowling sparked the remarkable win.

Starting the second innings precariously at 41 for 5, Rajasthan’s hopes for a comeback rapidly diminished under Nabi’s relentless pace and precision. He struck early and often, recording 7 wickets for just 24 runs in 11 overs. His exceptional control over seam and swing left the opposition batters baffled and struggling to settle.

Yudhvir Singh supported him well from the other end, taking 2 wickets for 33 runs in 8.5 overs. Their combined efforts led to a dramatic collapse of the Rajasthan batting line-up, which crumbled to a mere 89 runs in their second innings.

Despite brief resistance from Deepak Hooda (28) and Deepak Chahar (26), the rest of the batting order failed to withstand the intense pressure imposed by the J&K bowlers. The disciplined bowling attack left no room for error, culminating in a swift end to Rajasthan’s innings.

Thanks to his extraordinary all-round performance, Nabi earned the coveted Player of the Match award. His prowess on the field not only contributed to the victory but also highlighted Jammu and Kashmir’s rising stature in domestic cricket.

Presence of esteemed figures like BCCI President Mithun Manhas and Brig Anil Gupta, Member (Administration) JKCA, at the venue showcased the significance of this match. They praised the team, describing this win as a “landmark achievement” for J&K cricket, potentially inspiring future generations.

This emphatic victory will resonate in the annals of J&K’s cricketing history, showcasing their growing strength and determination on the national stage. It signals a shift in the cricketing dynamics of the region, and fans can expect further impressive displays in forthcoming tournaments.
