Satish Sharma Inaugurates Indoor Sports Hall in Khour

On Monday, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, inaugurated a cutting-edge multipurpose indoor sports hall in the Khour area. This initiative aims to significantly enhance sports infrastructure in the border regions of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking during the inauguration, Sharma emphasized the government’s earnest commitment to providing modern sports facilities that are accessible and inclusive for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that the focus lies particularly on rural and border areas to foster a robust sports culture, instill discipline, and promote a healthy lifestyle among young individuals.

“Quality sports infrastructure at the grassroots level plays a crucial role in identifying, nurturing, and grooming sporting talent. Our aim is to ensure that no talented youth is deprived of opportunities due to lack of facilities,” Sharma remarked.

The newly inaugurated multipurpose indoor hall has been designed to accommodate a range of sports disciplines simultaneously. The facility features three badminton courts, six table tennis courts, a volleyball court, two judo courts, along with two wrestling and kabaddi courts. This diverse array of facilities provides a comprehensive training environment for aspiring athletes.

In addition to the inauguration of the sports hall, Satish Sharma interacted with local youth and sportspersons. He encouraged them to make optimal use of these modern facilities, stating that the government remains committed to prioritizing sports infrastructure development, youth engagement, and talent promotion across Jammu and Kashmir.

The inauguration of this indoor sports hall is expected to significantly boost sporting activities in the Khour area and surrounding regions. It will enable young athletes to access world-class facilities conveniently near their homes, encouraging them to pursue their sporting dreams.
