15 Illegal Structures Demolished in Anantnag Under Nasha Mukt Campaign

The District Administration of Anantnag has mobilized its resources to clamp down on illegal drug-related activities. On Saturday, officials demolished 15 illegal structures in Waghama, Bijbehara, as part of the intensified 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to dismantling narcotics networks and erasing illegal assets associated with drug trafficking. This aggressive enforcement action serves as a significant component of their strategy to combat the drug menace in the region.

The demolition involved a joint effort among revenue officials and the police department. They targeted several shops that had been erected illegally on both State and Kahcharai land, particularly on parcels numbered 2494 (min) and 2495 (min) in Estate Waghama.

These structures connected to individuals implicated in violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were carefully dismantled, thereby retrieving encroached State and Kahcharai land. This action signifies an important step towards reclaiming public properties from illegal occupation.

Officials have announced a stringent approach, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward drug peddling, narcotics networks, and unlawful encroachments. The District Administration assured that this campaign against drug-related activities will remain robust and ongoing.

In a statement, the administration declared, ‘Dismantling illegal properties associated with the drug trade is a key strategy in disrupting the narcotics supply chain within our district.’ This proactive stance aims not only to remove illegal structures but also to sever the operational bases for narcotics trafficking.

Moreover, the authorities have issued a stern warning to the public. Anyone found engaging in drug-related activities or illegal encroachments can expect rigorous legal consequences. This serves as a reminder that the campaign’s reach extends beyond just structural demolition; it encompasses all facets of drug enforcement.

The Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign seeks to cultivate a drug-free environment across Jammu and Kashmir, standing as a pivotal initiative aimed at restoring societal integrity. The continuing enforcement actions highlight the administration’s resolve to target any form of drug-related infractions.
