Health Minister Sakeena Itoo inaugurated a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Devsar in Kulgam on September 20, showcasing the government’s commitment to improving health infrastructure in rural areas. The event drew significant local attention and included prominent attendees such as MLA Devsar Peerzada Feroz Ahmad and senior officials from the district administration and health department.
During her address, Minister Itoo emphasized that this new facility would profoundly benefit the local population by ensuring accessible and quality healthcare services right in their vicinity. She underscored the government’s ongoing effort to expand health infrastructure in remote regions, aiming to ensure that everyone receives essential medical care.
“Our mission is clear: We want no one to be deprived of basic medical facilities,” said Itoo, reaffirming her commitment to enhancing healthcare services across Jammu and Kashmir. She highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the government to progress the health sector and encouraged healthcare staff to serve the community with dedication and compassion.
In her remarks, the Minister also credited Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s leadership for fostering a transparent, accountable, and pro-people approach within the government’s framework, which is designed for holistic development of all regions in J&K.
MLA Feroz Ahmad Shah echoed the Minister’s sentiments, stating that the new PHC would significantly improve healthcare services for residents. He highlighted the importance of further development in the area and requested the Minister’s support for upgrading local hospitals and schools to better serve the community.
Later, Minister Itoo engaged directly with local residents, discussing their various issues and development demands. She assured them that their genuine concerns would receive prompt attention and action.
