Five Injured in Collision Near Zojila Pass: Details Inside

On Monday, five individuals suffered injuries in a vehicle collision near the Zojila Pass, a popular yet dangerous mountain pass in Jammu and Kashmir. The authorities quickly responded to the incident, transporting the injured to a local health facility for treatment.

Officials confirmed that the injured were promptly evacuated to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sonamarg. After initial treatment, they were referred to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura for specialized medical care.

The injured included Manzoor Hussain, son of Sadiq Ali Balti; Shabir Hussain, son of Hussain Ali Balti; Sadiqa Bano, wife of Manzoor Hussain Balti; Masrat Zara, daughter of Manzoor Hussain; and Fareeda Bano, daughter of Moad Hussain, all residents of Kargil.

Local police have registered the case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collision. The Zojila Pass experiences heavy traffic, especially during the tourist season, which raises safety concerns for travelers.

Officials urge drivers to exercise caution when navigating this challenging route, as incidents like this highlight the need for increased awareness and adherence to traffic regulations.
