Aarav Mahajan from Jammu Joins Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy Squad

In a remarkable turn for Jammu’s cricketing scene, 19-year-old Aarav Mahajan has earned a prestigious spot in the Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy squad for the upcoming season, marking a significant milestone in his budding career.

Aarav’s selection comes on the back of a series of outstanding performances in various age-group tournaments. He displayed remarkable consistency with the bat, amassing nearly 700 runs in the Cooch Behar Trophy (U-19), the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, and the CK Nayudu Trophy (U-23). His innings included a commendable tally of three centuries and three fifties at the U-19 level, alongside a noteworthy 87-run performance in the U-23 format.

His dedication to honing his skills is evident through his training at national platforms. Aarav attended three National Cricket Academy (NCA) camps, with the latest being at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence. His efforts placed him 17th among the top U-19 run-getters in India last season, and although he narrowly missed a call-up to the national team, his consistent performances have opened the door to the senior setup.

Cricket analysts praise Aarav’s inclusion in the Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy squad as a promising step forward. The young batter’s skill and determination have set a solid foundation for his aspirations in professional cricket. “Aarav has shown maturity beyond his years, and this opportunity could lead to greater honors in the future,” remarked a senior cricket coach.

The Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy squad comprises talented cricketers led by captain Kunal Chandela. The full roster includes Prashant Chopra, Bhupendra Lalwani, Avneesh Sudha, Yuvraj Chaudhry, Shashank Dangwak, Anjana Suryavanshi, Jagdeesha Suchit, Mayank Mishra, Harsh Patwal, Sourav Rawat (WK), Janamjai Joshi, Devendra Bora, Rajan Chaudhury, Abhey Negi, Jagmohan Nagarkoti, Sagar Rawat, and notably, Aarav Mahajan.
