BJP Commemorates Sher-e-Duggar Pt. Prem Nath Dogra’s Legacy

On the birth anniversary of the eminent nationalist leader Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, affectionately known as Sher-e-Duggar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid heartfelt tributes across Jammu and Kashmir today. This commemorative event emphasized Dogra’s commitment to national integration and his enduring legacy.

In Srinagar, the celebrations featured BJP National General Secretary and In-charge for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Tarun Chugh, leading a solemn tribute by garlanding Dogra’s portrait at the party office. Senior BJP leaders, including Sat Sharma, the J&K BJP President, and General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, offered floral tributes and reflected on Dogra’s impactful life.

“His unwavering struggle for ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ became the moral compass of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and continues to inspire the BJP today,” Tarun Chugh asserted, highlighting Dogra’s vision for a unified national identity.

Chugh further added that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A by the Narendra Modi Government fulfilled Dogra’s lifelong dream and served as the “ultimate tribute to his steadfast commitment to national unity.”

Sat Sharma echoed these sentiments, asserting that Pandit Dogra’s leadership during the Praja Parishad Movement paved the way for Jammu & Kashmir’s complete integration with India. Sharma stated, “Pandit Ji’s long-cherished dream has been realized under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.”

Ashok Koul remembered Dogra as a figure of moral integrity, describing how he exemplified determination during the “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” movement, which ultimately led to the abolition of the separate post of Prime Minister in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, in Jammu, BJP leaders, including MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with J&K BJP General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Baldev Singh Billawaria, participated in a Hawan ceremony and paid floral tributes at Dogra Chowk. Their collective homage reinforced Dogra’s significance within the party and the region.

Jugal Kishore Sharma praised Dogra, calling him “a towering statesman and patriot who led the historic Praja Parishad Movement for full integration of J&K with India.” This statement echoed sentiments expressed by others, recognizing Dogra’s pivotal role in shaping the region’s political landscape.

Sanjita Dogra encouraged party workers to embody Pandit Ji’s selfless spirit as they strive to uphold his ideology. Baldev Singh Billawaria emphasized Dogra’s role in laying the foundation for the unification of Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian Union.

The BJP’s tributes to Pt. Prem Nath Dogra today illustrate not only a remembrance of a key historical figure but also a reaffirmation of the party’s ongoing commitment to the ideals he championed throughout his life. As party members reflect on his legacy, they seek to inspire current and future generations to uphold the values of national integrity and unity.
