The Delhi Police made a breakthrough on Friday, capturing two wanted criminals supposedly connected to foreign-based gangsters after a tense encounter in the Kapashera area of Delhi. The accused, identified as Akash Rajput and Mahipal, both hailing from Rajasthan, face multiple charges and serious allegations.
Authorities revealed that Rajput stood out, wanted in several extortion and kidnapping cases scattered across Haryana, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Notably, Rajasthan Police had placed a ₹20,000 bounty on his capture due to his criminal activities.
According to police reports, Rajput was involved in a notorious incident in July 2022—a firing outside a hospital in Assandh, Karnal—ordered by the infamous gangster Daler Kotia. Furthermore, he is implicated in a significant abduction case from July 2025 in Gujarat, where gangster Kirit Singh Jhala allegedly demanded a striking ₹100 crore ransom.
This incident highlights the interconnections between local and foreign criminal networks, as Jhala had recently associated with noted figures such as gangsters Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan. Meanwhile, Mahipal, who previously faced charges in the Karnal firing case and was released on bail, resumed active involvement in the same criminal faction.
During the intense encounter, references indicate that Rajput sustained a bullet injury in the lower body before he was subdued by officers. Emergency medical assistance quickly followed, as he was rushed to the hospital for urgent treatment.
This incident marks a critical moment in Delhi’s ongoing campaign against organized crime. Authorities emphasize the increasing challenges posed by syndicates operating across borders, making collaborations essential for effectively tackling these threats. An informed police spokesperson stated, “These arrests illustrate the resolve of the Delhi Police in combating organized crime and ensuring public safety.”
As investigations continue, police remain vigilant and dedicated to dismantling the networks that propagate such heinous activities.
