Jammu, Oct 7 — Dr. Tahir Rufayee, the National Chairman of the National Foundation for Journalism and Media (NFJM), will visit Doda district on October 16 and 17. This visit forms part of his outreach tour in Jammu and Kashmir.

During his two-day stay, Dr. Rufayee plans to interact with civil society leaders and hold grievance redressal camps. His visit aims to review local media initiatives and communication strategies under the NFJM framework.

Dr. Rufayee’s itinerary features welcome receptions and visits to key locations such as Batote, Assar, Khellani, Doda town, Pranoo, Bhalla, and Bhaderwah. He aims to foster strong relationships between NFJM and local media personnel.

The primary objective of this visit is to address grievances associated with journalism and digital media operations, thereby promoting grassroots engagement in ethical journalism practices. NFJM officials confirmed that events in Doda and Bhaderwah will include interactive sessions with journalists, youth, and public representatives.

Dr. Rufayee will be accompanied by a team of prominent editors, lawyers, and former bureaucrats, enhancing the significance of this visit. The interactive nature of these sessions provides an essential platform for community feedback and discussion on media ethics and challenges.

This visit emphasises NFJM’s commitment to strengthen local journalism and ensure that community voices are heard. As Dr. Rufayee seeks to bridge the gap between media and the public, his presence in Doda is poised to catalyse positive changes in the region’s media landscape.
