LG Manoj Sinha, CM Omar Abdullah Wish Happy Vijayadashami

On Tuesday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conveyed heartfelt wishes to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir as they prepare to celebrate Vijayadashami and Gandhi Jayanti.

In his message, LG Manoj Sinha expressed, “On the joyous occasion of Vijayadashami, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all for their happiness, well-being, and prosperity. Vijayadashami symbolizes the victory of good over evil and righteousness over unrighteousness. May this sacred festival inspire us to work for unity, peace, and progress of the country and strengthen our spirit of harmony, brotherhood, and oneness.”

As the nation readies to honor Gandhi Jayanti, celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s 156th birth anniversary, Sinha paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation. “I pay my heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation. This is an occasion for all of us to rededicate ourselves to internalize Bapuji’s ideals of peace, non-violence, truth, tolerance, compassion, and selfless service,” he added.

Moreover, Sinha emphasized Gandhi’s contributions towards India’s freedom, social equity, and rural development. His concept of Swadeshi focused on self-reliance and promoting local production. I appeal to all people to buy Swadeshi products and support local artisans and cottage industries,” Sinha stated.

He concluded with a rallying call as he urged everyone to “pledge to follow the path of truth and non-violence, promote peace, and work for building a Viksit Bharat.”

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah shared his greetings on Vijayadashami, affirming its representation of the triumph of good over evil. “Dussehra inspires people to uphold the values of truth, righteousness, and justice under all circumstances. It conveys a timeless message of moral courage and harmony, vital for building a better society,” Abdullah remarked.

On Gandhi Jayanti, Abdullah noted, “Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless teachings of Satya, Ahimsa, peace, and humanity hold greater significance in today’s conflict-ridden world.” He reflected on Gandhi’s enduring struggle against untouchability, caste discrimination, and inequality. “His philosophy continues to inspire generations and remains a guiding light for building a tolerant, harmonious, and just society,” he added.

Furthermore, Abdullah urged especially the youth to imbibe Gandhi Ji’s ideals and uphold values of peace, communal harmony, and brotherhood in their daily lives, reiterating the importance of these ideals in today’s turbulent environment.
