Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Munna Singh, a 35-year-old resident of Sohal village in Akhnoor, for carrying an illegal revolver in Samba district on Saturday. Singh is currently residing in Samba and was apprehended while moving suspiciously in the Bari Brahmana area.
The incident occurred when police personnel conducting routine patrol spotted Singh approaching Kikri Morh from Data Talab. According to a police spokesperson, upon seeing the police team, Singh attempted to flee but was swiftly chased down and detained.
During the personal search, police discovered a revolver in Singh’s possession. He could not provide any valid license or authorization for the firearm, raising further concerns regarding illegal weapons in the region.
A case under the applicable provisions of the Arms Act has been registered at the Bari Brahmana police station. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to uncover any additional details related to the incident.
