Tarun Chugh Critiques Farooq Abdullah on Operation Sindoor Remarks

Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape witnessed heightened tensions on Monday as BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh criticized National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah for his dismissive remarks regarding Operation Sindoor and the efforts of security forces.

Dr. Abdullah claimed that the operation “did not achieve anything,” prompting Chugh to respond vehemently, labeling such comments as “shameful.” He argued that Abdullah and his family evidently do not honor the sacrifices made by the Armed forces. Chugh emphasized that these forces have successfully targeted and destroyed multiple terrorist training facilities in Pakistan.

The context of Chugh’s criticism stems from a tragic incident in Pahalgam, wherein 26 civilians lost their lives to attacks coordinated by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. Operation Sindoor, which Chugh insisted is still very much underway, serves as a vital part of India’s counter-terrorism strategy, especially following recent violent incidents.

Chugh cited the recent blast at the Nowgam Police Station as evidence of the courage exhibited by security forces combating Pakistan-based terrorist schemes. He vehemently alleged that families like the Abdullahs and Muftis, alongside others, often serve the interests of Pakistan and the ISI, even while occupying significant political roles in India.

According to Chugh, it is “shocking” for Abdullah to undermine security forces during a critical time when the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with intelligence agencies, have exposed one of the largest terror conspiracies in years.

Chugh confronted Abdullah directly, questioning whether the latter sympathized with individuals who had accumulated 2,900 kilograms of explosives aimed at perpetrating mass violence against innocent civilians. The BJP leader characterized this foiled plot as “colossal in scale,” warning of the catastrophic consequences had it not been intercepted.

With a deep sense of sorrow, Chugh reflected on the loss of nine J&K Police personnel in the Nowgam blast while managing the confiscated explosives. He termed this event “heartbreaking for the entire nation” and accused Abdullah of neglecting the sacrifices made by these martyrs, opting instead to utilize the tragedy to promote narratives aligned with Pakistan.

Chugh further expressed disappointment, stating that rather than lauding the bravery of the forces that thwarted potential devastation, Abdullah chose to echo sentiments favorable to the Pakistani Army and ISI. This behavior, he argues, reveals the underbelly of what he referred to as the ‘Gupkar Gang.’

In closing his remarks, Chugh challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi about his endorsement of such opinions, especially under the banner of the “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” political campaign, raising eyebrows on the integrity of their approach.
