UP Man Dies in Steamer Blast at J&K’s Shopian

An explosion in a juice factory in Aglar, Shopian, claimed the life of Saurabh Singh, a 26-year-old from Uttar Pradesh, and left two others injured on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. while the victims were repairing a steamer.

Local officials reported that emergency services rushed the injured men, Shiv Kumar and Raj Kumar, both also from Uttar Pradesh, to the hospital. Unfortunately, one of them later succumbed to their injuries, bringing the total fatalities to one.

The District Administration has launched an investigation into the incident. They aim to determine the cause of the explosion and ensure safety measures are implemented to prevent such tragedies in the future.

District Commissioner, Mohtashim Aijaz, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. He stated, ‘This is a tragic incident, and the administration stands with the affected families during this difficult time.’

The incident has raised serious concerns regarding workplace safety in the region. Shopian, known for its burgeoning fruit processing industry, must prioritize safety regulations to protect workers from such hazardous conditions. Experts urge factory owners to conduct regular safety audits to prevent future accidents.
